We building a diy automatic chicken feeder with a 5~gallon bucket that will hold 25 pounds of feed that is going to fit perfectly on the corner seat of the $30 chicken coop built-in 30 minutes. A very basic feeding and watering system for my chickens using 2 gallon buckets. it doesn't get much simpler or cheaper than this. this example is obviously. Just a simple 3" pvc elbow is all that is needed to turn a bucket into an automatic chicken feeder. i found the bucket in a trash pile so total project cost was $2.50.
