This is a "how to" build of a diy chicken coop for my in-laws. i'll be incorporating a water system, security features, an exterior egg access door and a few other things in this coop between this. In part 1 of the series, i went over the instructions for building the base and walls of your chicken coop. you can find that post here. in this post i will cover framing the nest box, putting on doors and windows, and probably the hardest part of building any structure: the roof.. **this is part 2 of a 4 part series. click here to read part 1** remember, rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was our chicken coop…it took 2 days. that’s right! it only took us 2 days to get our coop into a functional state. it may not be pretty on the outside (yet) but the chickens are all moved in..

You may not believe it if i told you but a chicken coop is by far the most requested build i get from my audience through email or the comments section of youtube and instagram.. We placed traps. we filled holes. no use… we lost 8 hens and 1 rooster. the predator would show up every two or three days, dig a new hole, find a new opening, and another chicken was gone. whatever it is won’t fall for the foot-trap trick. it wants nothing to do with raw chicken meat. so we are building a new coop..
